I just completed a 40-minute run last Sunday and was feeling good and excited…. when I chanced upon this Facebook post by Gabrielle Ong. It’s about 6 individuals and the path they took through trials, failures and what they did to triumph. I was very moved and felt the need to share these stories. We often celebrate successes but hardly speak about failures. I think we should change that. So, thank you, Gabrielle, for writing this and allowing The New Savvy to share this! What we wished we knew then… Been preparing this hoping it’ll encourage students but I just heard that we’ve lost another life this week ? Every year, I brace myself for the ‘season of suicides’ where every August up till the exam period, I hear of students committing suicide. Several I knew personally, others not. Those are just the actual deaths, there are many more attempts. Each time a suicide happens, the community is shaken; the thought is planted in more minds.
